This Privacy Policy explains how Your AI Consultant ("we", "us", or "our") handles information in connection with the Fabric and Textile Identifier app (the "app"). We take your privacy seriously and have built the app to collect as little as possible.

Overview

The app identifies fabrics and textiles from photos using AI. You do not need to create an account or give us personal details to use it. The main data the app handles is the photos you choose to analyze, which are processed by an AI provider and not retained on our servers.

Information We Handle

Photos you submit

When you capture or select a photo to identify a material, that image is transmitted to our AI processing provider for analysis (see "AI Processing" below). We do not store your submitted photos on our servers after the result is generated.

Closet entries

If you save a material to your Closet (for example a label, notes, and photo), that information is stored locally on your device. It is not uploaded to our servers, and it remains on your device until you delete it.

Anonymous usage and device data

We may collect anonymous, aggregated usage statistics and basic technical information (such as iOS version and device model) to help us understand performance and improve the app. This data does not identify you.

Purchases

In-app purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We receive confirmation of a transaction so we can deliver what you bought, but we do not receive or store your payment card details.

AI Processing

When you use the identification feature, the app transmits the image you choose to send to our AI processing provider, AIProxy (which interfaces with OpenAI), in order to generate the result. No account information, personal identifiers, or device identifiers are transmitted as part of this request. The image is used solely to generate the requested analysis. The AI provider's own privacy terms apply to their processing of the data we send.

How We Use Information

To analyze your photos and return fabric identification results.
To save Closet entries you choose to keep (locally, on your device).
To maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the app using anonymous usage data.
To provide customer support when you contact us.
To comply with legal obligations where applicable.

Sharing

AI provider (AIProxy / OpenAI): we share the image you submit, only to generate the identification result.
Apple: purchase information is processed through the App Store.
No sale of data: we do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your photos with any other third parties.

Data Retention

Submitted photos: used only to generate your result and not retained on our servers afterward.
Closet entries: kept on your device until you delete them.
Anonymous usage data: retained only as long as needed to improve the app.

Your Choices and Rights

Grant or revoke camera and photo library access anytime in your iPhone's Settings.
Delete any Closet entry from within the app at any time.
Stop using the app at any time to prevent further processing.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR (European Union) or CCPA (California), including the right to access or delete personal information. Children's Privacy

The app is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can address it.

International Users

Because the AI analysis is performed by a third-party provider, the image you submit may be processed in a country other than your own. We rely on the provider's safeguards for such processing and comply with applicable data protection laws.

If our practices change, we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
